Broadway 1

Broadway is Main Street in the town of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. It’s an approximate half mile walk from one end of town to the other on Broadway. As you walk through town you pass parks, restaurants, shops and lots and lots of people.

Once a small resort town that drew a few thousand visitors every summer it now draws five million visitors a year from all around the world. Most come to enjoy the area’s waterparks (Water Park Capital of the world) and then eventually find their way to Broadway Street.

There is just something enjoyable and challenging about capturing images of people with smiles on their faces. They are having fun and I’m having fun taking photos of them having fun. Win! Win!

The Honey Guy

I happen to like honey on my morning toast and when I run out I go to the Honey Guy. You can usually find him sitting under his tent at the corner of Broadway and Bowman Road with jars filled with his honey. I stopped for the honey but wound up having him toss in corn and tomatoes picked from his garden. All my wife could say when I got home and saw the above photo is why didn’t I get a couple of cucumbers too. Ah, such is life :)

A Broadway Artist

On Broadway you might find an artist on one corner and someone hawking a shell game on the next.

I do enjoy seeing the street venders showing off their talents and have to admit a few are downright entertaining to watch.

Grabbing Some Bench

When I saw this couple grabbing some bench in the shade on Broadway I had to stop and take their photo. It was 85 degrees in the sun and the shaded benches were filling up fast.

The Riverwalk

You’ll find the Riverwalk Pub just a couple blocks off Broadway on River Road. The log architecture in this place is nothing short of awesome. It was a great place to photograph a couple of veterans relaxing over a cold one.
